Sunset over Montespertoli hills
An ancient ridge road, an important route of communication between two valleys, a picnic in the shade of holm oaks and a history of more than two thousand years of Roman villae, castle ruins and sharecropping farms.
This and much more is the walk we propose in the surroundings of Montespertoli.
The walk ends the Castello di Montegufoni recognisable from afar by its tower, a copy of the Arnolfo tower in Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
Here, during the Second World War, many works of the Uffizi Gallerysuch as Botticelli's famous Primavera , found refuge.
Useful information: the route is about 5km long, partly on asphalt and partly on dirt road. Easy level of difficulty, suitable for stroller, small children. Not suitable for people affected by motor disabilities.
